Finding God

Begining a relationship with Jesus Christ

These are things you need to know in beginning a personal relationship with God through His son Jesus Christ.

Isaiah 53:5 says: “He was wounded for our transgressions, crushed for our iniquities His pain brought us peace. His stripes brought us healing”
Romans 3:23 says – “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”
Romans 5:8 – “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 6:23 says – “For the wages of sin is death.”
Rom 3:20, 28 says: “For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight…For we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law.

Isaiah 53:6,10 says: “The Lord laid on him the iniquity of us all…it was the will of the Lord to crush him.”
John 3:36 says: “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.
Rom 5:9 says: “Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.
1 Thess 1:10 says that we now: “wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.”

Titus 2:14: “Jesus gave himself to redeem us & purify for himself a people for His own possession”
2 Cor 5:21 says: “For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
Rom 3:23-24 says: “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,

Titus 3:5,7 says that Jesus: “saved us, not by works, but by mercy…we are justified by grace.’
Rom 4:24-25 says: “It will be counted to us who believe in him who raised from the dead Jesus our Lord, who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification.”
John 3:16 says: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Rom 10:9-10, 13 says: “if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved…For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Everyone who trusts in Christ alone for Salvation has this confidence:

1. You have a New Record
God has canceled your old record of sin and given you a new record.
Col 2:13-14 says: “And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, 14 by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross.”

2. You have a New Spirit
God has removed your old heart of stone and given you a new Spirit.
Ezek 11:19 says: “And I will give them one heart, and a new spirit I will put within them. I will remove the heart of stone from their flesh and give them a heart of flesh,”
Eph 1:13-14 says: “In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.

3. You have a New Future
God has saved you from a path of destruction and adopted you into His family.
Titus 3:5-7 says: “he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.”

If this is your desire, pray to God something like the following prayer:

“Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner and need forgiveness from You. I believe that You died on the cross and rose again from the dead in order that I might receive eternal life. Right now I trust You as my Savior and will follow You as my Lord. Thank You for hearing my prayer and giving me eternal life. Amen.”
